Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time. ~Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Wow, I came across this quotation and I was whisked back to about the age of 12. I watched this movie on television around this time of year. It was an old one, in black and white. I cried at the harshness and realism of the story. I do not remember all of the details now.
I found out there was a book and read it too. It was an old hardcover from the public library. I think my Mom had taken it out but maybe it was me, I do not remember. I did cry again, sobbed, reading the book, that I recall.
I am going to look for this book again! It is on my to-do list. I was deeply affected by the story at a young age and wonder what that was about. I am curious to find out, will let you know.
Just this quote alone, is something I can use in my life, as a Mom, as a woman, I think we all can.
