Nine months in and nine months out

My little Colin is already nine months old. He has now spent as much time out here in the world as he did living inside of me. Yes, I know we are actually pregnant for 10 months but I still prefer to think of the whole nine month thing.
These nine months have proven to be fruitful!! He has grown, gotten some teeth, a little more hair, beautiful rolls on his legs, crawled, laughed, bonded with his family, developed a palette for good baby food, walked around furniture, brought even more joy to our home. We are all on our toes with Colin around, even the dog!!
He is developing himself quite the little personality too. Colin I would have to say is my go getter. I hope this serves hom well in life. He wants his hands on everything he sees, not unlike any other 9 month old baby, I know! But my other boys would give up and just move on... not Colin!! A toy, some food, the telephone cord... when he sees something he wants he is gonna get to it!! Perhaps this can explain why he has learned to push the Bumbo seat to the couch so he can climb up. This from a child who is not yet walking on his own. He has some Taurus in him after all, or just inherited the stubbornness that both Mommy and Daddy possess. We prefer to see it as perseverance!
That is right Colin... do not give up. You have out there so much potential for a wonderful life and I want for you to put forth as much effort when the opportunities present themselves, just do not give up on yourself.
I look at this little boy and wonder how is he going to be in a year? in 10 years? as a man? We want the best for all of our children. We want them to make the right choices and stand above the crowd. We want them to be more than we could expect, more than we are and I just wonder.... how can I get him there?
I am excited each day to be with my youngest boy. I am enjoying the time we have on our own together. I love how a bond is just there! Thank God, we decided to have one more because I could not imagine my life without Colin!
