ten on tuesday

let's try out this new weekly feature and see where it takes us... lists, hmmmmm. I like it.

10 television shows I remember as a child

1. The Barbapapas.... clickety click, barbatrick! Remember this Kryt!! I found them on You Tube, if you want to go down memory lane. What a silly little show it was, and I just remember wishing they were pets you could own... I liked the furry black guy. But why, was the Dad pink?

2. Little House on the Prairie.... You would have to be a child of the '70's to know its worth! I still love to cozy up and watch Half pint and her Pa. Fave episode must be the fire at the blindschool or when Laura met God on the mountain.

3. The Brady Bunch.... It might have been re-runs but this was a staple in our house. What is not to love... little Cindy, misunderstood Jan or flippant Marcia... we could all find someone to relate to (hahaaa, ya right... well Jan was closest I could really "get") This was just pure fun.

4. The Flintstones.... Lunch time would not have been the same without them. My boys know the movie but do not even know this cartoon, sad. We always said our Dad had a little Fred in him! Fave episode is still the Pebbles and BamBam singing sensation "Let the Sun shine in" and the one where the Hollywood star comes to stay and their house and they do not even know who she is... she sings to Pebbles.

5. The Facts of Life.... Anyone care to sing the theme song with me? I was kind of a Tootie crossed with Jo. This was a show that made me wish I could go away to boarding school.

6. Fame.... Oh a big fan here! I had the style, the albums and knew the words to many songs. I was a wannabe Coco. Legwarmers, ah and headbands.

7. Happy Days.... Chachi, Chachi, Chachi.... and sure there were others on this show too. I dreamed of kissing Chachi, I dreamed I was Joanie. The Fonz was too old, Richie was too square... Chachi was just right. Even had two budgies named Joanie and Chachi, lol.

8. M*A*S*H.... A serious show. To me it was about war. But I never quite got it... why was it so funny? My Mom's show, and so I watched it by default. In the days of a one TV household them's the breaks! But I did rather enjoy the humour here, and somehow Hawkeye even came off as cute??

9. The Love Boat.... Okay, this show is just funny to me now. I used to love to watch and see the celebrities that would show up there... just imagine a modern day Love Boat... Paris, Britney, Timberlake, what a hoot it would be!!

10. The Smurfs.... The best Saturday morning cartoon ever!!! I wish it was still on the air. With all of those little blue men in the forest... well the story possibilities are just endless, I tell you. Like the one where Brainy gets bitten,... and goes "g'nat, g'nat" and turns green.

I miss the smurfs too. Em has started to watch the Facts of Life on CTS, and she loves it. It's funny to see the way they dressed. Carrie

Hey LOL,
reading all of your favourite old shows was so much fun! I loved relating to each show because they were all my favourite too.. except M*A*S*H*... always thought it was a yawn! Anyway, keep writing!! I have been having a writer's block. I need encouragement!!
