I am feeling particularly proud this day of the man I chose to be the father to my children. I am sitting back to watch him as he grows into his role as Daddy and friend to my three sons. He is doing a damn fine job. His life has been changed by their existence and I am more in love with him as a result. He spends his days caring for and playing with and nurturing the most important people on this planet... MY children. He loves them and is not afraid to tell them so. He changes diapers and puts together toys. He carries them to bed and lets them watch Family Guy. He wrestles and rough houses as often as he kisses and hugs them. He tells them stories of his life and revels in the unfolding of their story. He naps with them, plays video games with them, eats ice cream with them, picks on Mommy with them. He sets a firm boundary when necessary but can also let go and just live a little too... I am truly amazed at how fatherhood has settled upon his shoulders... that is my guy! I love you Michael for being strong enough to be there for my little men. The two that chose you and the one that you chose!!!
Happy Father's Day to the best tree out there! "NayNay is a monkey and Daddy is a tree" is the way a three year old described his relationship with his Dad, a few years back!
