This is the song that has all I have been feeling all wrapped up so well!! I am dedicating it to my niece with lots of love!!
The thing about Christmas spirit is that it is always around, it is not ever totally absent from anyone. Sometimes in our lives some of us need solid proof of its existence. Sometimes we have so much going on in our day to day lives that when the season rolls around we cannot grasp it wholeheartedly as much as we want it.
I am no grinch by any means but I sure did appreciate how it felt when my heart grew three sizes yesterday. With thanks for putting the meaning in "my Christmas" to my #1 girl Emily. She is my Cindy Lou Who!!
Emily showed remarkable kindness of heart and a generous spirit of giving and reminded me just what a special girl she is!! Our children teach, help and encourage us along in life without even knowing it. They are just that precious, we need them as much as they need us. Emily and her little sister Madelyn did not come through me to the world but are my children too. I am a most lucky auntie to have these girls grace my life.
Emily gave me a gift much bigger than that wrapped in paper. She thought of me and not just herself. She put care and consideration into what she could give her Mom, her Dad and her sister. She has learned the true spirit of Christmas and is only 8 years old. I will have this in my heart long after Em has forgotten her childhood gesture. I will give this back to her in some way later, maybe years down the road. I will share this spirit with someone else who needs it. It is the purity of her nature I felt so overwhelmed by, she is someone who cares deeply how others feel.
Today I am grateful for sweet girls in my life, and wonderful parents who raise them well.

Laurel, I have to say this one got me the most. Partly because it's about my baby, but also cause "we"
are all a BIG family. Your Boys and my GIRLS and US. And no matter who else is there we have each other. And I somehow believe that Emily knows that with out anyone telling her. We LOVE you so much, and Love to see you smile, or cry (in the good way). Whatever you need--we are there. Love ya, Carrie and Our Girls
