On the 7th day of Christmas what did Laurel see... seven acts of singing, six cups of Rice Krispies, five cousins playing, four mall santas, three sleepyheads, two boys a wrestlin and a mouse running past the Christmas tree.
Tonight I went to the CB Stirling Christmas program and got to finally see all of Aidan's practice pay off. The Reindeer Hokey Pokey was a crowd pleaser and he did very well with the Jingle Bells too. I sat with my brother Shawn and could not help but compare this to the Christmas concert of yesteryears!! The key difference is that we went to Catholic schools and openly celebrated the Christmas season. The boys have a different experience going to a diversely cultured school. I still remember the excitement "backstage" in our classes on the night of the concert, a movie would be playing and the open concept area would be abuzz with Christmas spirit and excited kiddies! I still remember the words to "mighty gitchi manitou" (the Huron Carol) or "Rockin around the Christmas tree".
