I just got a newsletter from school that was sent home with Aidan. Thank God for the primary Communication bags because I found out here that next week Josh has his grad pictures AND option sheets for high school are due. The boy is lucky to be in Ottawa right now, because I am ready to wring his little neck (you know the neck with the dirt deeply embedded in it, yup that be Josh!)
A word of advice to all parents with children who still keep their parents in the know... tell them how great they are for their good communication skills!!! It does not matter how I say it, or what it is, Josh never, never, never brings information home from school. Well, I let him know that I know when report cards are due and they get home (now). He has nothing to hide, he has no "bad news" that he conveniently "forgets" to bring to my attention... he is just soooo lackadaisical when it comes to this sort of thing... and me, I am out there in the land of curious parents wondering just what is happening in his class.
This is on going, a years long battle, it is who he is in a way. I know there are many other things I can not complain about, but man, how do I get through that thick little skull??? I have even mentioned specifically that stuff for graduation or high school should come home any time and how it is really important I get it... to which he replies, "yesssss, I know!!"
And as I said he is away on his Grade 8 trip, I miss him!!! But will blog this another time. sniffle, sniffle. Good night my Josh-a-ba!!!

I hear you Laurel!!! Areal is so forgetfull of anything related to school! All through gr.1 and so far part of gr.2 she constantly is forgetting, leaving behind or has lost, her backpack, hair accessories, jewelery(only cheap stuff, cause i'd never trust her to send real jewelery), numerous sweaters and sweatshirts, shoes, library books, snacks(I don't bother sending recess snacks anymore, 'cause she either loses them forgets to eat them or gives them away!!)and above all, SCHOOL NEWSLETTERS AND NOTES!!!!Not to forget permission slips to the trips I had no idea about until the day before or of!!! God help me when she get's to gr.8! Love ya and Josh too, Kryt!
Sorry Laurel, but the only way I can think of for parents of kids like Josh who are forever forgetful is to have their teacher staple the reports to their forehead so you can see them! I can remember all too well just how forgetful you guys were and I'm a prcrastinator from way back so at least he comes by it honestly.
Luv, Mom
