the cupboards don't get bare in this family

I am in the last stretch of my maternity leave. At this stage of the game, we are strapped! The one good thing about going back to work is the return to a normal paycheque. It is difficult these days to make ends meet.... a family of 5, and $1500 coming in each month.... do the math!!! We have granted ourselves some luxuries such as the internet or an occasional pizza night, but hey, we forego on alot as well. I am not a great saver, money is not something I hold onto for very long... especially when their are so many necessary expenses with three small children. But I do my best most months and try to be financially responsible!
The cupboards are getting close to bare. We are not by any means hungry, that would not be allowed to happen in this family. Just a note to my loving mama, I know what you were up to last night!!!! And thank you.
We gather for our family meals, yesterday of course, was Easter. Leftovers are always aplenty... my mom now has her Glad containers ready to be filled and we all just help ourselves to a "doggie bag". Well, last night, as I was filling up stuffing and turkey and ham, my mom just kept on giving more and more food... we went home with juice boxes, yogourt, fresh veggies and dip, rolls.... oh yes, we were set! Today we munched on carrots, celery and cauliflower to our hearts content.... all the while I was thinking how lucky I am to be my mommy's daughter.

Laurel you know I am just carrying on a family tradition. Nanny sent home or dropped off more care packages than I can remember and she always asks me if I need anything from her freezer, just help myself. Gramma Rock never let me go home without something, whether it was a jar of home canned fruit, some hot biscuits or a bag of ginger snaps. We're a very nurturing family, and sharing is part of who we are. Let me know if you need anything.

Luv Mom

This does not surprise me about your Mother and your family. You are all so blessed with eachother- always looking out for one another. As for maternity benefits, how does anyone do it? We work so hard and then get peanuts for EI!
See you soon lovey!

I was just going to say what Mom did!!! We are so lucky to have our MOMMY! Nary does a visit from Mom go buy that we don't find ourselves with such blessings, whether it be a couple of newly sewn dresses for Areal, a fresh pot of soup(Benito days when I was still learning)cookies, cookies, cookies( need I say more) and usually a special new dessert or munchie that she wants to share with us and our company! I want to be a Mom and Grandma like that!I'm glad we are in a family that is so giving of the things we need, the time for eachother and the sharing of who we are!! Love Kryt!! xox
