The ten year anniversary is coming.... this summer, Mike and I will have been dating for a whole decade. Having known each other for many years prior to our getting together up in Peterborough, and having most of my family camping with us while we daringly "hooked up" makes for a memorable story to tell my grand daughters some day! But one reminder I have kept as a token of that special time is the ring on my tall toe!
I purchased a silver toe ring on that trip. They were not nearly as mainstream as they now are, I thought it was unique, lol. I have never taken it off since that weekend.... Oh, okay, never say never... I did remove it for a foot x ray a few years ago, but that was just for minutes!! I have kept it on through swollen pregnant feet, swimming, and many a pedicure. I wear it year round under my socks, under tights and pantyhose, and forget most of the time that it is there. This little trinket has become a part of me. It is embossed with moons and stars, it still shines and twirls around when I am walking. I could squeeze it to fit tighter but do not want it to give way and break.
I have joked with Mike that it was the promise ring I gave myself.... It was my promise to make this one stick!! I may have saved him a ton of money for a diamond!!
It graces my awkward toes and makes me feel like a girl. I really have little fondness for jewellery, it gets in the way and catches in my clothing and hair but this ring is different... I will keep it on for decades more.

too precious Laurel. I love your feet too. They are so cute! If that were me, I would have lost that toe ring long ago. It must be good karma that you have weathered lots of walking, swelling and feet hardships I'm sure and the ring remains.. like your relationship, it has held on tight and will always remain! I am SO delighted. xoxoxox
You do have such cute feet, and well manicured as well! It doesn't matter what symbol you wear as long as it is meaningful and dear to you! I can't fit my wedding rings anymore, so last summer I bought a silver puzzle ring to wear in it's place, it reminds me that relationships are like puzzles, sometimes the pieces may fall out of place but with patience and perseverence you can put those pieces back together!I have had to put that ring together 3 three times now and each time I do, it doesn't take as long. I like to think that it is a reflection of Troy and my relationship!
Moons & Stars - That's my girl! That's where your dreams lie and your heart too. I remember that camping trip all too well. I think that's when Mike got the nickname "Stringbean' from nanny! Ten whole years! A decade of love between the two of you. Two fine sons. A love that continues to grow. A loving woman and a fine father for your boys. I was thinking of Bensfort & Jenny just a little earlier. It's hard to believe it started there and then.
I know you have your wedding song picked out, so when's the wedding!
Luv you both
Mom
