I do not think I have!!
Oh, the list is neverending with a mothers love for her children. I am no different than any other proud mama. I just had one of those nights last night where I could not be prouder... and really, it was just another day... no big accomplishments or anything... just a wonderful capture of brothers who are there for each other.
Back to the ball park (tis summer after all... this is where the good stuff happens) and Aidan let me just say was having a very good game. A quick text from Josh to advise that he had just went and bought himself a glove and was gonna come and throw some balls with his little bro, after his game. Takes little to please me, I was already impressed.
So Josh shows up to catch the last couple of innings of A-man's game. And to Aidan's delight I am sure... especially since he had some good plays on the field and at the plate. It is the little things that connect a family... sharing in the pride of each other and just plain being together. I make a point to be there for my kids games whenever possible. It counts. No matter what anyone may say... it matters. I know the boys will make that good play... and look to see that you caught it! (one of the most decadent parts of being a parent) At the end of the day... I am just Mom. It is great that I am there... but where else would I be, right? But... when big brother comes and sits as a spectator to the little brothers sport... how awesome is that!!! Now that makes one 10 year old work his baseball playing butt off! No one greater for him to want to impress than his big brother.
And then, to top it off... they stick around after the game to practice together... well, whether Josh knows it or not... he just gave Aidan a great gift! His time and attention. And this is why I brag. Oh, how I love them to bits!!!
Not to say that brothers spending time together is exceptional or extraordinary... but when you have one who is finishing high school, working, spending most remaining waking hours with his friends... and one who is still a kid... not even to mention the wee guy... 3 kids of varying ages and interests just spending time together because they want to.. yeah, you see how this is special in my eyes.
As Nanny would say... look at these kids... I am so rich!!
